30W!...looks like Jo-Jo mighta had some problems this week...

At least if you're beyond a 5-mile Newton/Boston radius! Waaaaahhhhhh!

Due to a water damaged cable (THE cable connecting the antenna to the WZBC transmitter), we're only putting out 30w of power instead of our massive 1000w at 90.3FM.

Chin up! All is not lost pardner....along with the lucky folks living within the privileged 5 mile radius, you can hear the Z via our stream, iPhone app AND archives of all the shows.

Listen at your leisure, hopefully in the comfort of cool A/C, anytime for the next two weeks.

We promise to be back up, strong as ever, soon.

Thanks for all your calls, emails and IMs, it's always good to hear from our loyal listeners!!

** SMC's Even Better Live Series Presents - ARTY HILL 8/22 @ High Noon **

Cow Island Music recording artist, ARTY HILL, will be stopping by Sunday Morning Country at high noon to sing a few (some brand spankin' new!), fill us in on his Tejas tour conquests, and all the latest & greatest from the AH songwriting camp in Baltimore!

Don't forget....Arty's playing Sally O'Brien's the night before at 9pm, so all you honky tonkers better have your dancin' shows shined & ready to go!

He's got Stan Mitchell bangin' away on drums, Steve Potter slappin' the upright bass, and Mike Castellana making the pedal steel cry like a baby!

* RIP Robert Wilson - GAP Band Bassist *

Robert Wilson provided the backbone for all The GAP Band's songs, including BURN RUBBER (Why You Wanna Hurt Me), one of my favorites from 1980.
It went to #1 in 1981 and (with apologies to "Leader of the Pack") reeving engines haven't sounded quite the same since!
